Capabilities

One source of truth, two audiences.

Most teams keep a help centre for customers and a separate pile of notes for the AI. Keeping them in sync is work nobody does, so both go stale. Here there is only one.

Hosted on your domain

help.yourcompany.com, your branding, your navigation. Not a subfolder of ours with our logo in the corner.

The agent's training data

Every published article is something the AI agent can answer from. Edit the article and the answer follows on the next conversation.

Search that finds things

Full-text search across your articles and categories, so a visitor can find the answer without starting a conversation at all.

Writing that is not a chore

Rich text with images and code blocks, drafts you can preview before anything goes live, and a version history on every article.

See what people needed

Views per article, and how many readers marked each one helpful or not. An article with traffic and a poor score is the one to rewrite first.

Every edit kept

Articles are versioned, so you can see what one said before a release changed it, and put the old wording back if the change was wrong.

Authoring

Written in the same place you answer tickets.

The best article is usually a reply you have already written more than once. Draft it, preview it, publish it, and it starts deflecting the next one.

  • Rich text, images, code blocks and callouts
  • Categories and ordering you control
  • Drafts and previews before anything goes live
  • Version history, so a bad edit is one click from undone

Feedback

Let the gaps tell you what to write.

You do not have to guess which article is letting people down. Views tell you what is being read, and the helpful ratings on it tell you whether it landed.

  • Views per article, so you can see what gets read
  • Helpful and not-helpful counts on every article
  • The agent's escalation rate, as a signal of what is missing
  • Version history, to see what an article said before

Setup

Three steps to a help centre.

If you already have articles somewhere, most of this is copying them across once.

Write or import your articles

Start from your existing docs, or turn your most repeated replies into the first ten articles. Ten is usually enough to see deflection.

Point your subdomain at it

Add a CNAME for help.yourcompany.com and set your logo and colours. The help centre serves from your domain.

Questions

What teams ask about the knowledge base.

Does the help centre run on our own domain?

Yes. Add a CNAME for a subdomain such as help.yourcompany.com and it serves from there with your branding.

Do we have to maintain a separate copy for the AI?

No, and that is the point. Published articles are what the agent answers from. There is one thing to keep current, not two.

Can we import what we already have?

You can paste articles in as rich text and organise them into categories. There is no one-click migration from other help centres today.

Can we publish articles in more than one language?

Not today. An article carries no language of its own, so a help centre is single-language and a second language means a second set of articles. The chat widget's own interface is translated into nine languages and follows your workspace default, but that is the surface around the articles rather than the articles themselves.

Can we host it ourselves?

No. Chattypie is hosted by us, including the help centre.
